Reconstructive Surgery for Tumors / Cysts

Reconstructive  surgery is performed by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon (OMS) to remove lesions like tumors and cancers that are present in the jaws and/or facial skeleton.

 

Objective of these surgery is to remove tumor/cyst so they don't recur and patient can be cured. These surgery are very technique sensitive and objective is reconstruct the patient with minimal invasive techniques and disfigurement. Some of the reconstruction and resection are performed in one surgery other times there are stage 4-6 months apart. Dr. Krajekian is one of the only surgeons in the region that performed these surgeries utilizing advance 3D custom titanium to meet the specific patient anatomy.

Most of these surgery will be performed under general anesthesia in office or hospital depending on size of the lesion and medical condition of the patient.

These surgery are done with partnership of a maxillofacial prosthodontist or dental specialist to aid in dental appliance fabrication.
