Instructions before IV Sedation

Pre-Operative Instructions for IV Sedation

​

  • You may not have anything to eat or drink for eight (8) hours prior to the appointment.

  • Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at surgery time.

  • A responsible adult must accompany the patient to the office, remain in the office during the procedure, and drive the patient home, and stay with the patient for at least 12 hours.

  • The patient should not drive a vehicle or operate any machinery for 24 hours following the anesthesia experience.

  • Please wear loose fitting clothing with short sleeve shirt, and low-heeled shoes.

  • Contact lenses, jewelry, and dentures must be removed at the time of surgery.

  • Do not wear lipstick, excessive makeup, or nail polish on the day of surgery.

  • If you have an illness such as a cold, sore throat, stomach or bowel upset, please notify the office or Dr. Krajekian directly.

  • If you take routine oral medications, please check with Dr. Krajekian prior to your surgical date for instructions, it is okay to take your regular medicine with small sip of water. If you are diabetic contact your primary case for management of you diabetic medication.

  • We are here to provide you with highest quality service. Please notify our office at least 48 hours if you’re unable to keep your appointment.

  • Please complete the attached medical history prior to your appointment. If you have any questions you can ask Dr. Krajekian at time of your appointment

  • Please arrive 15 min prior to your appointment to complete the surgical consent.
